"Quality, Not Quantity"

Engine 33

"Beast of the East"

Engine 33 is a 1998 HME/New Lexington. It has a 1,750 GPM pump, with a water tank of 1,250 gallons. The crew cab has seating for 8, including the Chauffeur and Officer. Each seat excluding the Chauffeur has a Scott SCBA, along with an on-board air supply for the MPO at the scene of a fire. Along with this, each firefighter responding to a call has an assignment.  33 Engine has a full complement of pre-connected attack lines; 8 to be exact, , 3500 feet of 5" supply line, set up for a complete lay, or dual 1500' lays; and 48 feet of hard suction hose. We are also one of few engines in the area to have a 5" line pre-connected off of the officers side to place a portable deluge gun or a tanker fill in quick operation. Some other equipment is a MSA Evolution 4000 thermal imaging camera, an 18" positive pressure fan, chain saw, CO2 extinguisher, Dry Chem Extinguisher, and a PW can. Engine 33 is also a member of the Lebanon County Foam Task Force.  Engine 33 is the "first out" piece to most emergencies that Station 33 responds first due on.

"Next Due Who?"

Squad 33

"In Squad We Truck"

Squad 33 is a 1993 Volvo/Saulsbury Air~Light Unit. It carries a full complement of hand and basic rescue tools. The Squad also has light tower, an assortment of haz-mat equipment, forcible entry tools, a K12 circular saw, a chain saw, 21" positive pressure fan, multi-gas detector, is a PA DOH certified QRS unit and carries an array of other equipment. The Squad can carry up to 7 firefighters to the scene of a fire. The Squad is a multi-purpose unit at the scene of a fire, not only as an air~light unit, but is also able to function as a truck company (minus the aerial device of course) or RIT unit. The cascade system has 8, 6000-lb cylinders and a 14.2-cfm on board compressor. With this on board, as long as Squad 33 has fuel, the cascade can fill cylinders. Due to this and more, Squad 33 responds "first due" on many eastern Lebanon county structure fire boxes, and also on some western Berks and northern Lancaster county structure boxes.

Foam 33

After Engine 33-1 was placed out of service, it became apparent that the hose bed on Engine 33 would have to change dramatically in order for the 33 house to carry the 5 inch supply line that is necessary for the rural fire ground operations we encounter.  Due to the low volume of foam task force calls that we run, it became apparent that the foam that was taking up valuable hosebed space on the Engine, could be moved.  It was deemed impractical to just store the foam with no means of transportation; so with the upcoming delivery of Utility 33, the members had an idea.  Why not purchase a small trailer, and haul the foam on the trailer?  So, "Foam 33" was born.   Foam 33 carries the 200 gallons of AFFF, plus all the necessary adaptors needed for foam operations.  There are plans to place a locked box on the trailer for the adaptors, along with some lettering and reflective striping.
